Review policy
Reviews on The Roofing List come from homeowners. We host them; we do not write or edit them.
Payment never changes reviews
A business that pays for a Claimed Profile gets no say over its reviews. Payment never changes which reviews show, their order, or the rating. We do not hide honest negative reviews. Owners of a Claimed Profile can reply to a review in public and can choose one review to show at the top. The full list stays the same, newest first.
Who can write a review
Anyone who used the business can write one review with a name, a rating from 1 to 5 and a few words about the job. Reviews show as soon as they are sent.
What a review must not contain
- Reviews of a business you did not use, or reviews you were paid or rewarded to write.
- Reviews by the owner or staff of the business, or of a rival.
- Threats, hate, sexual content or personal details such as home addresses or phone numbers.
- Content that is not about the work, such as ads or links.
Flagging a review
Each review has a “Report this review” link. Tell us what breaks this policy. We read every report. If a review breaks the policy, we take it down. If it does not, it stays, even when the business disagrees with it.
Ratings
The rating on a profile is the average of the reviews shown on The Roofing List. We do not copy ratings or reviews from other sites.
Closed businesses
When a business closes, its reviews stay stored but no longer show.
