About siding repair
Siding repair replaces cracked, loose or missing pieces and fixes the damage behind them. A small crack can let water reach the sheathing and the frame, so a good repair checks under the panel before it closes the wall again. Matching is the hard part. Colors fade in the sun, and older styles go out of production. A contractor may take a piece from a hidden wall to patch the front. Soft or rotten wood on several walls can mean the siding is near the end of its life.
