About soffit and fascia

The fascia is the board along the edge of the roof that holds the gutters. The soffit is the panel under the roof overhang. Vented soffits let air into the attic, which helps keep the attic and roof dry. Rot in the fascia often comes from gutters that overflow or from a missing drip edge.
