What to ask a contractor

  • Which shingle line and grade is in the quote, and what is its rated life?
  • Do you offer an impact-rated shingle, and does my insurer give a discount for it?
  • What underlayment goes under it, and is ice and water shield included at the eaves and valleys?
  • Who gives the warranty, you or the shingle maker, and for how long?
